Tele Vision
Google seems to have found a way to archive content from TV programs and make it searchable online. The service is still in beta, but looks promising.
According to an official press release by Google:
“Google Video” enables you to search a growing archive of televised content – everything from sports to dinosaur documentaries to news shows. Our mission is to organize the world’s information, and that includes the thousands of programs that play on our TVs every day.
Just type in your search term and Google Video will search the closed captioning text of all the programs in our archive for relevant results. Click on a program title on your results page and you can look through short snippets of the text along with still images from the show. Visit the “About this show” side panel to learn when this show will air next.
Now, that’s what I call innovation!
i admire google as an innovative company. more importantly i wish to learn how the televised content is available online. Is it digitised and made available online ? I suppose one would have to pay for some content if not everything. On a tangent I would like to see detailed maps of india online with driving directions from one place to another like in the US. Can the americans help us with that ?
