Bundle of Joy

Book Cover

Revised Edition…

I’m excited to share that I’ve re-released an updated version of ‘Bundle of Joy‘ in an e-book format, refreshed with illustrations to accompany each short essay. And, it is now completely free!

As it turns out, even today, most of the writing on parenthood is oriented towards (and written by) mothers! Dads are typically under-rated and under-published. This little e-book aims to fill that gap by sharing my reflections on fatherhood with other novice (or wannabe) parents.

Feel free to download it, and share it with your friends. Your feedback and comments are welcome!

A Dream Comes True…

In March of 2008, I got my first book published. It was a slender little book, all of 48 pages and priced at a modest Rs. 100.

It reproduced many of my blog posts on the subject of “fatherhood”, tracing the journey of my experience as a parent, from my first child’s birth to the time she reached about three years of age.

For a long time, I deliberated on whether or not I should throw my life open to the public, through this book. Eventually, I decided that the joy of being a parent is something that deserved to be shared with others. And, that it would be selfish to keep it all within me.

So, it did get published, and dozens of copies were distributed among friends and family. Between 2011 and 2013, the ‘Bundle of Joy’ was also sold briefly on the shelves of Strand Book Stall in Mumbai (which was another dream come true!), and was available as a Kindle edition on Amazon.

Ultimately, though, it was not intended to be a commercial success, but a way of sharing my experience with family and friends…

Thanks,
Naveen Bachwani
