The Wonder Years

A for Amazing

A few months ago – in August, to be precise – I blogged about Pumpkin’s first report card!  It was a treat.  And, as parents, we were both overjoyed!

But, being the genius that she is, she had to go and better it in the next one…

(A+ = Excellent, A = Very Good, B+ = Good, B = Scope for Improvement)
(Earlier ratings on the left; New ones on the right of “>>”)

Self Reliance

  • I take care of things  = A >> A+
  • I attend to my personal needs  = A >> A
  • I meet people without shyness  = B+ >> A

Motor Skills

  • I like to draw  = A+ >> A+
  • I can string beads  = B+ >> A+
  • I can climb steps  = A >> A+

Work Habits

  • I work quietly  = B >> A
  • I clean up after work and play  = A >> A+
  • I finish what I start  = A+ >> A+

Social Development

  • I like to play with others  = B+ >> A
  • I join organized games  = A+ >> A+

Courtesy

  • I listen while others speak  = B+ >> A
  • I accept and respect authority  = A >> A

Language Development

  • I enjoy listening to stories  A+ >> A+
  • My attention span is becoming longer  = A >> A+
  • I speak clearly  = A >> A+
  • I share my experiences with the class  = A >> A+

As a parent, I firmly believe in not pressuring children to perform in school.  Honestly, I would’ve been happy even if the report card was just average, as long as she was learning and having fun.

That said, if it’s all “A” and “A+”, who am I to complain ?!
