The Wonder Years

Practice what you Preach

I’d been suffering from an acute case of tonsilitis, the past week.  Pumpkin had gotten used to my frequently asking for warm liquids at home, where I otherwise prefer drinking cold things.  Anyway, the half-a-dozen pills I was on, were obviously working, as my symptoms started gradually improving and the pain in my throat subsided.  Naturally, I was keen on having something cool…

So, I asked her to tell her mama to make me a glass of cold coffee.  She started to go to tell her, and then suddenly turned around and scolded me: “Papa, you’re not allowed to have cold coffee.  Only hot coffee.  Understand?”  I was a bit surprised, and asked her why.  She said with sincere concern: “You have a bad throat, no?”

Daughter of Invention!

My wife – BossLady – had just completed taking a photograph of Pumpkin and her playschool teacher, on her last day of school.  On the way home, Pumpkin had this to say: “Mama, when I grow up, I’ll make a camera that has paper in it, so that when you take a photo, you can press a button and the paper will come out with the photo on it!”  She was, of course, inventing the polaroid camera without knowing it exists!!!

At the time of writing this, Pumpkin is all of 4 years and 2 months old!
